About Us
Lifetracks is owned and run by YouthNet, a registered charity founded in 1995.
What we believe in
Lifetracks aims to be the first place all young people turn to when they're making decisions about their work, study or training. We believe all young people have the capacity to make their own decisions and life choices, provided they have access to high quality, impartial information and advice. We don't tell anyone how to lead their lives - we just believe everybody should have all the information they need to make their own decisions. Whatever your dreams for today, tomorrow and the future, Lifetracks can help make sure your next step is the right one for you.
What we do
Lifetracks is a new service and will be growing and improving all the time.
Right now we provide articles, audio and video on the key issues facing young people who are making decisions about their careers, work, study or training. But there's lots more to come, from blogs and profiles, to answers to your questions and discussion boards, this is just the beginning. The site is developed hand-in-hand with you, the site's users. So if you'd like to get involved, tell us what we've got wrong (or right), and have a say in the future of the site you can join our online project group.
'I know some people who are a little younger than myself and currently going through the whole thought process of what to do with their lives and I know that what you are striving for here would be of great use to them. I wish I had something like this available to me (or that I knew about) when I was leaving school..........I cannot wait for this to be up and running. It's going to be sweet as!!'
James McGuire, 24, Lifetracks Project Group Member
But Lifetracks isn't just a website; it's a whole new programme of on-the-ground and online services for 16 to 25 year-olds, run by YouthNet, Rathbone, Skill, and the Foyer Federation.
YouthNet, the charity behind Lifetracks.com, also runs a two sister sites, TheSite.org and do-it.org.uk. Launched in 2001, do-it.org.uk is the most diverse and comprehensive national database of volunteering opportunities in the UK. TheSite.org has been around since 1997 and gives young people a place to seek help online. It offers complete anonymity, giving 16-25 year olds a trusted place to turn when they need confidential support and guidance on any issue they're facing.
