Accessible volunteering

The Lifetracks team is committed to accessibility, not just on the website but in everything we do.

Skill support young disabled people so they can find volunteering opportunities that suit their interests, passions and motivations. Their outreach workers provide support to all newly-recruited volunteers throughout their volunteering placement. So whatever you want to do, Skill want to help you do it.

"I volunteer to increase awareness and help people to understand that epilepsy is not about the myths that the press leads us to believe."

Katrina (19), Lifetracks Volunteer

Skill also provide practical advice, support and information to organisations so they can create truly accessible volunteering opportunities.

As well as volunteering in the local community, Skill's volunteers are also creating content for Lifetracks. Volunteers have attended media workshops to learn how to use film and audio equipment. During these workshops volunteers have created short films that will be soon on the site.

"The workshop was a fantastic opportunity for me to reflect on my current college course and to think about the skills I have learnt during my work experience."

Rahim (22), Lifetracks volunteer

"It's been a great day. I've liked everything I've done... particularly the interviewing. It's been right up my street."

Anton (24) Lifetracks Volunteer
