volunteer journalists

If you're aged 16-25 and have a burning desire to write, you've come to the right place. We're looking for young people to contribute their views and stories to Lifetracks.com.

Who can volunteer?

Our volunteer journalists should be able to demonstrate evidence of their ability to write and an interest in the subject they want to write about. We can only take people who are aged 16-25. In return for your effort, we'll help you shape your idea and show you some tips and tricks to ensure you gain skills from your experience. Great for your CV, especially if you are interested in a career in journalism.

Step 1

Come up with an idea. Lifetracks.com is all about working, learning, volunteering and training – so as long as your idea fits these categories, we'll consider it. The idea needs to either be a true life story about something you or someone you know has personally experienced, or your view on a topical issue (like this article about tuition fees).

Step 2

Search to see if someone has already written the same thing for us. If they have, it's back to the drawing board (unless you want to write a reply to them - we welcome this, especially if you disagree with their opinion!).

Step 3

Send your idea to volunteer@lifetracks.com. Write a 100 word explanation telling us why you think your idea would fit on Lifetracks.com.

Step 4

If we think the idea works, we'll contact you and give you a deadline, plus support to help you write your article. We're sorry but we can't accept every idea – we just don't have time to work with everybody. There are other opportunities to write for us - starting a blog on Lifetracks.com for example.
