Can I watch videos with subtitles?
Yes, you can. Click on the 'SUBS' icon in the bottom-right of the screen to activate the subtitles. Clicking again turns them off.
My browser crashes when I'm viewing a page with an audio player on it
We have noticed a slight issue with the Flash audio player causing browsers to crash. If you experience difficulties please download the latest version of Adobe Flash player version 10.
When I press play on the video player I see only a white screen
When you press play the video needs time to buffer (i.e. load) the video stream into the media player. How fast it does this depends on the speed of your internet connection. Be patient and the video should start.
The media player pauses intermittently
This is probably due to your internet connection and speed. If you don't have broadband you may experience difficulties watching the videos or listening to audio files. If you have a broadband connection, try closing some programs and try again.
There is no video or sound
You may not have the Flash Player installed on your computer. You can download it free here. If you've already got Flash Player, it may be disabled on your web browser, so check your browser settings to enable it.
Are there any system requirements?
There are some system requirements to run Flash on your computer.
I've installed Flash player but there is still no sound
Your volume settings may need readjusting. First, check the sound on the video player isn't turned down – it's located at the bottom right of the player. If that doesn't solve the problem you may need to adjust the settings. If using a PC, your sound settings can be found in the 'Control Panel'; if on a Mac they are in 'System Preferences'.
Can I put Lifetracks videos on my website or blog?
Not just yet. We're working on this functionality and hope to have it live soon.
Can I bookmark a video?
Yes, just click on one of the 'Bookmark/share' icons under the video player. There are icons for: Delicious, Facebook, StumbleUpon or Digg. Click on the one you want to post to and follow the instructions.
Can I play videos full screen?
Yes, click the full screen button on the bottom-right.
Can I upload a video?
We don't currently have a user-upload area for the videos. This is something we'll be introducing soon. If you'd like to make videos for Lifetracks, get involved.
Can I rate or comment on a video?
We don't have these functionalities at the moment but keep your eyes peeled as we will be adding this in the near future.
