For his NVQ level 2, Martin attends college once a week, learning theory in the morning and working on practical plumbing exercises in the afternoon. Martin agrees with his family's point of view and thinks that an apprenticeship is a great idea and will give him a career for life.
Owain has just finished his NVQ level 2 apprenticeship course in plumbing and is now working towards his NVQ level 3. He says that, "college gives you a basic knowledge of plumbing to really help you on-site."
Dedication and reliability are key to making the most of your apprenticeship, as well as the ambition to take it further, as Owain says, "in 10 years time my ambition is to have my own van, have my own boys work for me and be my own boss".
