e2e
If you need to take the next step towards finding a job or getting qualified for work, choosing an e2e programme could be one way to making yourself more employable.
"Each course is based around your individual needs."
What is e2e?
e2e stands for Entry to Employment. It's a programme designed to help you develop the skills needed to get onto an Apprenticeship, or take part in training, further education or employment
What will I study?
Learning covers three areas: basic and key skills, vocational development and personal and social development. In practice, this could mean learning about how to get into health and social care or construction, taking part in a work placement, writing CVs or working as part of a team. There's the opportunity to brush up on your maths, English and computing skills, as well. An advisor will offer one-to-one support tailored to what you need to learn.
What are the entry requirements?
e2e is open to everyone aged 16 –18 not already participating in post-16 learning, living in England.
How long does an e2e take?
Attendance on an e2e course is usually 30 hours a week, although you can start at 16 hours if you commit to building the time up. Because the course is based around your individual needs there's no set time-limit for attending. Instead, the course lasts until you're feeling confident about further training, or getting a job.
Is it like staying in school?
A lot of the work is practical rather than written, and geared to helping get you on the career ladder, so it's a different style of learning to that you may have encountered at school.
Is funding available?
Learner Support Funds are available in schools and colleges in England for students who are struggling financially. Ask your advisor to show you how to apply.
Where can an e2e take me?
It depends where you want to go! Each e2e programme is structured to see you leave with a place on an Apprenticeship, options on other courses, or entry into the world of work.
