It's harder than it seems.
You'd think finding a voluntary placement or some work experience would be easier than finding a job since they don't have to pay you for it but how wrong that thought is.
At least you can give in CV's and fill out standard forms to fill a vacancy in a workplace but with work experience, there's no vacancy to fill, you're just trying to push yourself in with the others for a while!
It seems
unfair that companies do not make it exactly easy for you, you need their
boost to help you get to a higher position in the future; you sort of just
want to be like them.
Which do you think would be easier, finding a voluntary placement in a nursery with a college backing you OR becoming a volunteer in a hospital to be on their radio?
Who do you think would appreciate the help more?
I've been looking for a job for 3 months and a placement for 2 weeks and am failing in both.
I applied to be a hospital radio volunteer 3 days ago and have already received a phone call and have a meeting set up for Monday.
It's frustrating that the world of work seems to work this way but the only thing we can do is wait, keep applying and just keep trying.
