Sixteen-year-old Kyle asked for a mentor when he was in foster care because he needed someone to talk to. Enter Darren, Kyle's 25-year-old mentor. Here they discuss how the relationship works and what the benefits are. "If Kyle didn't have someone to talk to, an older male role model, he'd be doing bad things now," says Darren. Kyle, who admits he was getting in with a bad crowd, has found a job at Halfords fixing bikes and keeps in touch with Darren despite their official mentoring period of one year coming to an end. "Darren's really down to earth and easy to talk to," he explains.
